Sensational sunsets and curious cloud formations
Blue by You…?
Some Sunday Sunsets…
Fall sunset…
Sunset savvy…
One thing their is no lack of in my view is the sunset along the waterfront.
365 days is a plethora of opportunity and as you can imagine thousands of shots as each one makes its decent from the sky, through clouds, or not…into the dunes and the water.
Romantics love sunsets, fisherman are keen on that time of day, they are the back drop of many life adventures, pictures and places.
With as many that fall right in front of my face, I struggle not to be a sunset snob. Probably one of the most photographed phenomenons of nature, little is required of the photographer, as the light cast sparks the creative eye, not only on the event, but the subject matter on which it falls.
Hope you enjoy some of the sunset in my view…

First taste…
Spring is full of firsts…from the no color of winter to the first color of spring as it makes itself available, one step at a time.
First Saturday in May opens the possibility, for the first taste (since last spring ), of the tastiest fresh water fish in my view. The flaky flesh of the walleye pike, broiled or fried rivals ocean haddock in its white appearance, texture and taste, as it crosses your palette.
A bump on the head, and a swipe of the knife, it doesn’t get any fresher from eating to ate.
Caught up in our first taste of walleye for the season…

Flight of fancy…
Fire and ice…the colors of winter
Colors along the waterfront this time of year have to be captured when you can find them. Just a couple of places I have found a colorful view…luvin life on the lake…usny.
We have always referred to this as the ice house. I don’t know how it got the name, as it housed boats in its day. The sands of time has changed its view…but it remains a consistent one in mine.

Mostly days have been gray, but when the sun does come out…
Purple haze…
Although it is rumoured that jimi was inspired along the shores of Morocco to write Castles in the Sand, the rock and roll flavor and view for today along the shore was feeling more like a purple haze…

all through my brain…

lately things just don’t seem the same…

acting funny but I don’t know why…

Scuse me while I kiss the sky…

purple haze all around…don’t know if I’m coming up or down…am I happy or in misery? Luvin life on the lake put a purple spell on me…usny. 🙂
Viking in the clouds…
When a Viking appeared in the clouds at sunset, it occurred to me, maybe he was looking down, reminiscent for the waterfront experience…the motivation for setting sail, one of exploration. Motivation, similar to perhaps our own when heading out on to the water.
As legend has it, they made their way to North America sometime circa 700-1100 AD, navigating by the sun and the stars. When clouds obscured the view a device, a Sun Stone (cool), was used.

For the “polarization of the skylight”, a crystal, was held to the sky as a window to the way on the water.
The lens, the “skylight” of the day captures, the Viking in the clouds…part of the ever-changing view…and spark for imagination…luvin life on the lake…usny.
